You’re Still Young.

You’re only young once.

Or so they say…

Wonder isn’t bound by youth—

You’re still young.

Inspiration

I fell in love with This Present Moment by sculptor Alicia Eggert for it’s simplicity and profound relatability. It became an inspiration for the lightbox with the use of light and “omission” poetry.

While it was displayed at UC Davis in 2023, I was inspired to create a smaller version with a different message and style of lighting.

One Box.

Many Meanings.

In this piece, words come to life illuminating a new phrase from the existing words.

Each new phrase highlights a part of us that has been forgotten.

Eventually, the phrases complete the cycle and remind us that there’s still time to be young at heart.
